Week 1 Great Lakes Adventures 6/27 - 7/1
Great Lakes Discovery (Grades 1-3) Learn about the wonders of water, what lives in our Great Lakes, a bit about navigating on the Lakes using signal flags...and maybe hear about shipwrecks! Offered in cooperation with AA Hands On Museum.
Sunken Treasures (Grades 1-3) Sail into adventure on the high seas as you create treasure chests, ships, flags, and maps. Ahoy Matey! Instructor Amy Thurlow.
Soapstone with Max (Grades 3-5) Carve a loon, Inukshuk, bear, dolphin, whale tail or fish, plus make a small totem necklace or good luck stone. Staffed by Canadian Soapstone Artist Max Sexsmith.
Cooperative Games (Grades 1-5) Campers work together to solve problems or succeed as a team. Games are fun, surprising and encourage creative thinking. Everyone wins. Instructor: Rick Dekeon.

Magic (Grades 1-2 and 3-5) Learn magic and be mystified by a performance with Magician Jeff.
Plenty of Plants (Grades 1-2 and 3-5) Examine at the huge array of plants that surround us,compare different types, and discover which animals depend on each one. Learn how to press plants and start your own collection. Staffed by AAPS Naturalist John Stahly.
Fantasy Land (Grades 1-2 and 3-5) Princes, princesses and fairies delight in dragons, unicorns, dressing up and playing in the land of fantasy. Instructor Amy Thurlow.

Week 3 Earth Agents 7/11 - 7/15
Worms, Dirt & Recycling (Grades 1-2 and 3-5) Find out about worms and composting. Use re-use materials to make cool things you can use at home. Learn all about recycling and have lots of fun doing it. Offered in cooperation with AA Hands On Museum.
Winged Things (Grades 1-2 and 3-5) Seek out local birds and learn their names! How many can you spot? You’ll listen for their various songs, and search for nests and other signs of birds, too. Staffed by AAPS Naturalist John Stahly.
Scrappy Art (Grades 1-2 and 3-5) Reusables are made into unique art projects, toys, and jewelry! Instructor Amy Thurlow.
Break Dance (Grades 1-2 and 3-5) Become a b-boy or b-girl exploring dance moves to high-energy music. Instructor: Maurice Archer
Eco Friendly Foods (Grades 1-2 and 3-5) Experiment with, learn about, and taste fruits, veggies, and herbs! Instructor: Stephanie Carlson.
Finger Crafts (Grades 1-2 and 3-5) Learn fun, easy crafts such as braiding lanyards, knitting without needles, and making a “tie” blanket or pillow. Instructor LeAnn Hall.
Multi Sports (Grades 1-5) Try indoor and outdoor sports - everything from field games to basketball. Instructor: Rick Dekeon.

Week 4 Arctic Blast 7/18 – 7/22
The Big Freeze (Grades 1-2 and 3-5) Explore cold climates and find out about the animals that live in these places. Learn all about ice, from "wet" ice to "dry" ice. Experience some very "cool" things including making ice cream. Offered in cooperation with AA Hands On Museum.
Bugged Eyes (Grades 1-2 and 3-5) Creepers, crawlers, leapers and flyers live all around us. Where do they go when it gets cold? Have big fun with “catch and release” collecting – nets and containers provided! Staffed by AAPS Naturalist John Stahly.
Break Dance (Grades 1-2 and 3-5) Become a b-boy or b-girl exploring dance moves to high-energy music. Instructor: Maurice Archer
Polar Art (Grades 1-2 and 3-5) Chill out with art from the arctic! Make igloos, penguins, glaciers, and sled dogs. Instructor: Andrea Inostroza
Arctic Treats (Grades 1-2 and 3-5) Make and sample tasty chilly snacks: frozen bananas, grapes, fruit smoothies, homemade popsicles and ice cream. Instructor: LeAnn Hall.
Tumbling/Gymnastics (Grades 1-2 and 3-5) You'll enjoy individualized instruction in a group setting. Fun includes floor exercises, tumbling, balance beam and wedge mat. Offered in cooperation with Tumble Tots Gymnastics.

Week 5 Summer Cool Down 7/25 – 7/29
Bubbles & Water (Grades 1-2 and 3-5) Learn about the properties of water. You'll blow cooling bubbles and have some fun with water, too. Great way to cool down on a hot day! Offered in cooperation with AA Hands On Museum.
Hoppers & Croakers (Grades 1-2 and 3-5) Search for amphibians in the neighborhood and discover their habits and life cycles. Get a close-up look at some examples in the classroom. Staffed by AAPS Naturalist John Stahly.
Kids Yoga (Grades 1-2 and 3-5) With fun yoga postures, music and sound therapy, children develop flexibility and strength. Instructor Nydia Quiroga.
Beat the Heat Fun (Grades 1-2) Cool treats, homemade fans, and ice experiments are just a few of the activities you will explore. Instructor: Stephanie Carlson.
Eco Friendly Art (Grades 3-5) Enjoy making and flying kites plus creating projects using natural materials. Instructor Andrea Inostroza.

The Daily Scientist (Grades 1-2 and 3-5) Build your “natural knowledge” with fun outdoor exploration. Find natural wonders right in the neighborhood, and bring your findings to life by recording and sharing your observations! Staffed by AAPS Naturalist John Stahly.

Secret Life of Muscles (Grades 1-2 and 3-5) See how our bodies are built for motion, sports and dance by learning about muscles, bones, and even look at a real heart. Enjoy sports and movement games too! Offered in cooperation with AA Hands On Museum.
Animal Detectives (Grades 1-2 and 3-5) Many animals that share our city manage to stay mostly hidden from our eyes. Search for tracks and other signs of our animal neighbors, and see what shows up in a hidden camera “trap”. Staffed by AAPS Naturalist John Stahly.
