Art Camp: Comics & Cartoons

An advanced camp for students who desire to develop their drawing and character building skills.

For students entering grades 3 - 6

  David Cowen

David Cowen directed a nationwide art education program in
Yellowstone National Park for 10 years.

He currently teaches cartooning for Rec&Ed.

Deb Golden

Deb Golden has a degree in drama activities at the University of Michigan. 
She currently teaches drama and art to Rec&Ed students.

Camp Comics & Cartoons

Immerse yourself in the imaginary universe of your own comics and cartoons.  With your cast of unique characters, you create wild and zany stories that only you can tell.  For five days, you will live and breath your characters, exploring how they look, talk, think, and feel by drawing, sculpting, storytelling, and acting. WARNING: Parents will be able to see the contents of their childrens' imaginations.

Scholarship recipients pay $35 materials fee. 

Monday-Friday, 9:30 AM-3:30 PM

Extended Care is available 7:30-9:30 AM & 3:30-5:30 PM

Location: CAB (Cultural Arts Building) at the corner of S. Forest St. and Wells St.
              This building is air-conditioned.

Campers provide their own lunch, snacks and beverage and should bring sunscreen.
